PEAC School for Elite Athletes Introduces New Golf Program September 2015

Downsview, ON- PEAC School for Elite Athletes (www.peac.ca) will launch PEAC GOLF next fall as part of their sports programs. Widely known for its development of elite hockey players, PEAC is a private school that provides a platform where elite athletes can focus on education and sport-specific training.  Former alumni include Connor McDavid and the Subban brothers.

PEAC will introduce its new golf program for the start of the 2015-2016 school year.  Early stages of production for an indoor golf training facility has begun, allowing PEAC golf students to train on-site weekday mornings and afternoons.

“With golf’s growing need for expert training we believe that this program will fill a gap and benefit those elite golfers looking for year round training and coaching. PEAC is really excited to add golf and seeing future stars develop,” said Robb Nelson, Managing Director of PEAC.

David Fritz of the David Fritz Golf Academy (www.davidfritzgolf.com) will act as PEAC’s Golf Director. David is a PGA Professional with over 20 years of experience. He is currently a Board Member of the Canadian Junior Golf Association and is very active in developing junior golf in Canada.   His competitive experience stems from playing NCAA 1 at the University of Akron in Ohio. David will develop course curriculum and work closely with athletes to ensure each student receives the best coaching available.  “I am excited to be part of this new initiative and look forward to seeing the program grow and develop this young talent,” said David Fritz.

Turnberry Golf Course (www.turnberrygolf.ca) in Brampton will serve as PEAC Golf’s home training facility.  Additionally, students will receive biomechanical and fitness assessments through Honsberger Physio (www.honsbergerphysio.com).  Each student will receive a personal and golf-specific training program that will be part of their athletic requirements.

PEAC students gain results by training up to 12 hours per week in their specific sport.  During the school year, they will receive over 500 additional hours of training throughout the season. Class sizes are small which contributes to the academic success of PEAC students, many of whom receive NCAA scholarships throughout the U.S.
